A New Home in the U.S.:
We purchased Lord Logger shortly after he was imported to the United States. His home base is Joie Gatlin Show Stable in San Juan Capistrano, in southern California where he receives both wonderful care and excellent training. He shows on the Southern California Horse Show Circuit (Indio,The Oaks, Showpark, Del Mar etc). In his early years with us he showed both in the open jumper divisions (with Joie in the irons) and with Meredith in the Amateur Owner division. As he is now 17 years of age, we have moved him to the Modified Amateur Owner division, where he is still happily doing his job. He is an amazing animal who loves to jump. Over the years, he has displayed a talent and temperament that have allowed him to move between professional and amateur divisions with ease. Now, in his later years, he continues to do what is asked of him, willingly, honestly and with great dignity.

A great deal has been written about Lord Logger's legendary forebears. Cottage Son, a thoroughbred improvement sire introduced into the Holsteiner breeding program in 1959, stood for only four years in Schleswig-Holstein but had a huge impact, leaving behind 14 approved sons and 42 approved daughters and producing many successful show jumpers, dressage horses and 3 day eventers. Ladykiller, another thoroughbred who entered the Holsteiner stud in 1965, produced 12 approved stallions out of his first crop alone and was a reknowned sire of both breeding stock and sport horses. Lord, Lord Logger's sire, is one of Ladykiller's most famous sons, an international 3 day event horse and a famous sire in his own right. Farnese, Lord Logger's dam's sire, was pure Holsteiner and according to the Federation of Holsteiner Horse Breeders (see The Holsteiner Horse by Romedio Graf von Thun-Hohenstein and Joachim Tietz) personified "one hundred forty years of pure breeding ... in dignity, substance and gaits."
For more information on Lord Logger's famous forebears, see The Holsteiner Horse, referred to above (available from the American Holsteiner Horse Assn)
Lord Logger was bred in Germany and spent his first eleven years there. He was hundred day tested in 1993 (as a four year old) and was 3rd overall out of 31 horses (score of 123.53), and 2nd in Jumping (score of 131.11). He competed successfully at the highest levels of show jumping (M and S classes) and is the sire of international jumpers as well as successful dressage and eventing horses.
